EGANS RESERVE

Public BBQ

A surprisingly well-equipped reserve tucked into a quiet valley at Greendale, directly across the road from the pub. It is large, spacious and fully fenced, so dogs can be let off lead while you walk a lap. Facilities are better than the setting suggests: a playground under shade sails, flushing toilets, clean public barbecues, picnic areas, and both tennis and basketball courts alongside the oval, which is also used for cross country. It is a genuinely good spot for a barbecue and a play. Two things to know: it is very exposed and gets hot, and with nobody else about it can feel a little empty. Rabbits are plentiful, which is worth bearing in mind with dogs.

Generally, it is permissible to utilize your own gas BBQ, provided it remains under continuous supervision. However, the usage of Charcoal BBQ's is typically restricted, with the exception of parks equipped with designated charcoal disposal bins.
